Cooking classes

You can take vegan cooking inspiration back home since we show you how to prepare plant-based special dishes for every occasion.

Wine tour and cellar visit

Without any chemical influences, at i pini we press harmonic, organic quality wines which resemble the terroir of its origin. All our wines are vegan since we renounce animal products during its production. Visit our rustic wine cellar and taste Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti, accompanied by vegan snacks.

Excursions

In spring when the fruit trees are blossoming and the vines awake from hibernation, Tuscany is best discovered by foot. Peace surrounds the soul and from the Tuscan hills, the world looks like a different one.

For your hikes, we recommend planning in some more time since you could pass by a remote farm which invites to stay. Take off your hiking boots and have a sip of wine. Leave words behind and let emotions be your guidance. Feel small amidst the immensity of the region and at the same time as the world is yours. Enjoy this special feeling of freedom. Everything is as it should be.

Biking

Tuscany is a biker’s paradise. Take in the stunning views while taking a casual ride or taking on a more challenging mountain climb.

The kitchen

As Agrivilla guests enjoy Tuscan cuisine differently: vegan, creative and special. Simply carefree. The natural is no trend, but a lifestyle. The ingredients? Preferably from the own garden and local farmers, which we know by name. Our plates colour with the seasons and follow the rhythms of the moon. Therefore we strongly believe in the intelligence of nature and the wholesomeness of her fruits.

Priceless, but always included at the villa i pini: The view from the patio on the towers of San Gimignano, the medieval Manhattan. The perfect location for nice hours at any time of the day. Uncomplicated, vegan and spontaneous.

BUONGIORNO

At the Agrivilla the sun already smiles with the breakfast: Everyday freshly baked bread by Grazia. Sun-ripened tomato salad, jams and spreads, homemade cake, granola and fruit. Days that start like this can only make one happy.

BUONASERA

And in the evening the Agrivilla provides organic, vegan plates. Four handmade courses. Including the best cold-pressed olive oil, Mediterranean herbs and a pinch of hospitality. The vine derives from the Agrivilla organic vineyard. From the historic i pini cellar just next door.

RESTAURANT

We gratefully open our restaurant during the day. From 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm our creative cuisine prepares creative plates according to the seasons. In the late afternoon, we serve an elegant aperitif with handmade vegan delicacies. This is how we prepare for an evening in Italy.

The Agrivilla i pini is not a place that you just randomly stumble upon. The small vegan winery wants to be discovered, far away from the bustling streets of the old town center of San Gimignano. Off the beaten track from tourists that seek their way through the narrow alleys. Tucked away on a small hill. Quiet, close to nature, pristine. A place where time has stopped. Once you pass the majestic entrance gate beneath the high growing pine trees you sense that you will spend your days stressless in a place that makes you feel like home. Sometimes we hear that the dusty road that leads there will test your patience. But the best places are hard to reach, aren’t they? And that’s Tuscany! We can’t change that, and we wouldn’t want to anyways. This is what gives this place its charm. Our job on the vineyard is as challenging and unique as that dusty road. Our approach to natural farming can be so wonderfully multifarious. Including you, our lovely guests that we want to make feel at home. We would love to tell you more stories about i pini, our variety of quality wines which are gratefully filled into their bottle by the moon itself. Maybe you want to experience our lively vineyard or even lend us a hand during our grape harvest in September? We also recommend May as a good month to travel, since it is cherry season and you can watch them growing at i pini waiting to be picked and eaten. Whereas summer brings apricots, black berries and figs. All of high quality. All natural without any use of pesticides. i pini in San Gimignano is a wonderfully vegan place. Join us to shape it.

Important historic treasures and works of art, created by some of the most influential poets, thinkers, painters and architects of all times, after all, Tuscany is considered to be one of the world’s culturally richest region.
Favorite places: San Gimignano – 1.5 Km
San Gimignano was founded in 300 B.C. as a small Etruscan village. Thanks to the Via Francigena and the trade of saffron and Vernaccia the town became a blooming city in medieval times. It feels as if time has stopped in the year 1563, and the city has been preserved in immaculate detail and can be considered one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE since 1990, and, because of its peculiar towers and the resulting skyline, it has also become to known as the Manhattan of medieval times.
Florence– 50 Km
Florence is situated along the shores of the Arno river, and, with 400.000 inhabitants, it is the largest city in Tuscany and also its capital. Merchants, such as the Medici family, but also famous artists and architects such as Brunelleschi, Donatello and Masaccio have shaped the city. The main attractions are the famous dome Santa Maria del Fiore, the baptistery San Giovanni and the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge.
Siena – 35 Km
With its 55.000 inhabitants, Siena is one of the most charming cities. UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE since 1995. An extraordinary example of medieval architecture is the main square, the “Piazza del Campo” with its unique shape, surrounded by ancient palaces and the tower Del Mangia.
San Galgano – 50 Km
The monastery of „San Galgano“ is considered to be the most important example of Gothic architecture in Italy. The monastery was founded in the 12th century by Galgano Guidotti on top of the “Montesiepi” hill. In the 16th century, the monastery was partly damaged, but has been preserved ever since, and is certainly worth a visit, albeit off the beaten track. The Disney movie “The sword in the stone” was inspired by the monastery.
Pisa – 75 Km
The leaning tower of Pisa doesn’t need an introduction, and while it is obviously the main attraction, there is so much more to see in this beautiful city. Narrow streets with cobbled stones, small coffee shops, and the old houses painted in yellow. The city has around 90.000 inhabitants and the historic centre is made up of 4 districts.
Certaldo – 15 Km
Only after a short drive from San Gimignano, you will discover the small town of Certaldo. It is the ideal spot for people that want to get away from it all and escape the tourist masses for a while. The town is made up of two different part, the new town and the old part on top of a hill, the two are connected by a historic cable car. The famous poet Giovanni Boccaccio was born here.
Vinci – 45 Km
This town is well-known all over the world because of its most famous son, Leonardo da Vinci, who was born here in 1452. In the historic centre, you will find one of the most extensive collections of Leonardo’s works such as paintings, poems, inventions, blueprints, etc.
Volterra – 25 Km
The town sits atop of a hill at an altitude of 539 meters above sea level, quietly nestled between the rivers Bra and Cecina. The historic centre is surrounded by a well-preserved stone wall.
Colle Val D’Elsa– 15 Km
A little bit south of San Gimignano you will find the town of Colle Val d’Elsa with ist 21.000 inhabitants. The lower part of the town is rather industrial, while the historic centre is located on top of a small hill, surrounded by medieval walls and is famous for the production of high-quality glass ware, which can also be seen in the town’s main museum.
Tuscan Seaside– 70 Km
Tuscany is known for its great wines, delicious food, medieval towns and unforgettable landscapes. Also, the beaches are certainly worth a visit. From i pini you can quickly reach the Etruscan coast that stretches from Livorno all the way to the lush hills of Piombino. Here you will find spectacular white sandy beaches and rocky coves.
